Professor at the University of Córdoba, Department of Agricultural Economics.

 

PhD in Agricultural Engineering and University Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Finance and Accounting of the School of Agricultural Engineering and Forestry of the University of Cordoba. Delegate of the Rector for International Projection with the rank of Vice Rector. Director at the University of Cordoba of the International Master in Rural Development (Erasmus Mundus).

In 2018-2019 she was part of the High Level Expert Group of the European Commission in charge of defining the Research and Innovation Agenda for Innovative and Sustainable Cities in the next Horizon Europe research framework program.

He coordinated a project of the 7th Framework Program COMET-LA: Community-Based Management of Environmental Challenges in Latin America.

He has also collaborated with different international organizations such as FAO, UNESCO, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, ECLAC in the elaboration of reports and papers related to the development of rural areas and sustainability.

Currently serving as Ambassador at Large for Global Food Security at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Spain. Former Director General for Sustainable Development Policies from 2018 to 2021. In this position, he has been lead author and strategist of the 2030 Agenda Implementation Action Plan of Spain, coordinating the Spanish Voluntary National Review at the High Level Political Forum. Lead author of the Spanish Cooperation Joint Response Strategy to COVID-19 pandemic. He served in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary General from 2011 to 2017, including as Coordinator of the UN Secretary-General High Level Task Force on Global Food Security and as Team Leader of the UN Secretary General´s Special Representative for Food and Nutrition Security from 2016 to 2017, based in Rome

Luiz Carlos Beduschi Filho

Luiz Carlos Beduschi holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the «Luiz de Queiroz» School of Agriculture of the University of Sao Paulo, with a master’s degree and a doctorate in Environmental Science from the same University.

He has more than 20 years of experience in design, management and evaluation of public policies oriented to sustainable rural development.

He was a professor at the University of Sao Paulo for 15 years, where he coordinated the PhD program in Environmental Science at the Institute of Energy and Environment (IEE/USP).

He is Senior Rural Development Policy Officer at the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean, where he coordinates the Rural Development team for the region.

Niraj Kumar is a Professor of Rural Management at XIM University, India. With a doctorate in Extension Education from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), he has done his graduation and Post-Graduation in Agriculture from the prestigious G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India.

He has been associated with premier institutions like the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) and the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM).

A professional with interests in Agri-business, rural development, and development communication, he has published his academic works in journals of international repute. As an adept trainer, he has helped many government and non-government professionals and organisations to increase their professional competencies. Currently, he is the Dean of the School of Rural Management at XIM University, Bhubaneswar.
